Alexa and Me

Out and About
Okay so I decided that Alexa should be involved in all day-to-day activities to aid my adjustment to her and also to help justify her price (yes I am obsessed with the cost). She turned out to be very helpful her mostly due to her size with room enough for reusable bags, purse, quavers (for my 16 month old) and all the other essentials required by a mum on the move! We have so far experienced Tesco which by all accounts went well as no one noticed her Topshop however was a different story altogether as I managed to induce a few yelps and OMGs from a couple of girlies half my age! So a mixed bag (excuse the pun) of my first every day experiences with Alexa ranging from indifference to excitable screams. I am sure the hysteria from 20 something girls will cease when the next Bag appears on the pages of Grazia or the Alexa backlash occurs!

Alexa and Me

So after a couple of decades of lusting after "it" bags I finally became the proud but humble owner of the Mulberry Alexa. This was a consolation prize for entering my 5th decade which I tried to do with good grace but failed miserably the week before by falling to pieces! Alexa however has pulled me out of the doldrums and now I just have to try and achieve some nonchalance whilst wearing her something that I am finding difficult to do. I'm in my second week now of casually touting her about my daily life and its getting a bit easier but I now have shoulder and neck pain from the weight of her. It sounds as though I am complaining bitterly but don't be fooled Alexa's advantages outweigh these small grumbles. She instantly transforms any outfit from "oh I'm not sure about this" to "yep that's the one" as soon as I sling her across my body. I am sure I will settle down at some stage and she is the type of bag that will age beautifully even if her owner struggles to. My advice if you are ever splashing out on THE bag of your existence is choose carefully and keep it classic then you can both age together and maybe by the time retirement comes around you will have justified the price!
